Responsibilities:

Provide technical and operational support for GM China Assembly and Test for Engine and Transmission.

Qualifications:

Knowledge:
- Experienced in engine and Transmission assembly and test.
- Knowledgeable about function of engine/trans test systems (Cold Test, Hot Test, Leak Test, etc)
- Production Launch Experience
- Project Management Skills
- Cross functional experience, e.g. Task Forces, Problem Solving Teams, etc
- Can understand and perform PFMEA's, Process flows and control plant development.
- Rich knowledge of on-site problem solving & process improvement;
- Deep knowledge of Engine/Transmission Assembly and Test processes and equipment

Skills/ Competencies:
- Fluent in English & Mandarin
- Ability to work effectively with multi-cultures
- Can lead the development and implementation of specific manufacturing process.
- Ability to understand and implement error-proofing strategies.
- Can support and manage continuous improvement activities related to engine/transmission assy process.
- Demonstrated problem solving and resolution experience.
- Can solve/assist start-up, ramp-up and operational problems as required in assy systems related to engine/transmission.
- Ability to provide estimates for new engine/transmission assy systems.
- Ability to create standardized work documents related to assy operations.
- Perform simultaneous engineering activities for plant process change requests.
- Ability to support and actively interact with manufacturing operations group to support SPQRC activities.
- Ability to understand and comply with std procedures and equipment specifications in supporting existing process and installing new processes.
- Ability to provide feedback and lessons learned for future specifications development.
- Highly motivated with ability to work in a "non- structured" organization
- High level of skill to work independently and confidence in decision making.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities
- Ability to organize and plan effectively
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and take initiative with limited direction from supervisor.
- Ability to travel to remote destinations(mostly inside of China but also outside of China occasionally)
- Strong presentation skills.
- Computer skills including competency in PC based office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project), AutoCAD, and any other relevant software
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work effectively in Joint Venture environments.
- Strong knowledge of engine/transmission Test equipment.

Experience/Education:
- Bachelor degree in Engineering
- 5+ years in Engine/Trans Manufacturing, 5+ years of Assy/Test specific experience is preferred
- Production Launch Experience
- New product development experience
- Experience of working in JV or multi-culture company
