Responsibilities:
· Single-point accountability for GMIO Manufacturing Engineering. Act as single point of IT contact to GMIO ME business leadership and GMIO ME functions. Participate in GMIO ME leadership meetings as a regular staff member
· Define ME IT strategies and plans to enable to GMIO ME business strategies and plans
· Conduct competitive assessment and benchmarking of ME IT and Math processes
· Conduct internal assessments of GMIO ME Math processes. Define gap closure plans to world class processes.
· Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of ME and ‘Math Based’/Virtual Manufacturing technologies
· Propose and drive ME business process innovations by exploiting leading-edge value-added IT technologies
· Collaborate with Global ME IT to ensure GMIO ME business requirements and priorities are included in Global ME strategies, plans and projects
· Collaborate with Product Development IT to drive world-class Integrated Product and Process Design processes
· Define GMIO ME IT annual project portfolio and budget input to the Global portfolio planning process
· Plan and manage GMIO ME projects. Manage GMIO ME project schedules and budgets. Work with Finance and Purchasing to create all required project Appropriation Request and procurement documentation. Ensure all projects are delivered on schedule and within budget with first-time quality. Track project spending, milestone and deliverables attainment. Manage project issues and risks
· Lead the GMIO ME IT team. Supervise GM ME IT employees. Define clear, measurable goals and provide feedback for individual team members through the ‘Commitment and Accountability Process’. Engage the GMIO ME IT team to make GM IT a ‘Workplace of Choice’
· Participate in Global ME IT meetings as a regular team member
· Participate in IT HRM meetings as required
Qualifications:
· Sound knowledge of automotive product development processes including Product and Manufacturing Engineering processes and technologies (e.g. body, die and weld tool development; final assembly; paint; powertrain ME). Minimum 5 years experience in at least one of these key ME business functions
· Sound knowledge of the following ME information technologies:
· ME math technologies including: body and general assembly process planning, virtual manufacturing assessment and visualization technologies, lifecycle product and process data management, plant and process layout, robotics simulation and off-line programming, ergonomics simulation, 3D product and tool design; numerical control machine tool programming, dimensional engineering, Co-ordinate Measuring Machine and inspection technologies. Minimum 10 years experience
· ME business systems including tool and die shop capacity planning and scheduling, cost estimating and requirements management
· Engineering IT infrastructures including client, server, storage and networking technologies
· Significant direct experience (minimum 10 years) in working with Siemens or Dassault/Delmia Product Lifecycle Management and ME toolkit technologies (e.g. Teamcenter, Unigraphics, Process Designer, Process Simulate)
· Significant program and project management experience within Asia Pacific. Proven track record in planning and implementing IT systems in large, complex, manufacturing environments: minimum 10 years experience
· Proven ability to work effectively with manufacturing leadership teams. Minimum 5 years experience
· Highly developed oral and written communication skills, fluent in English
· Willing to travel frequently within GMIO region and globally to support ME business plans
· Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Minimum 5 years direct experience in managing project teams
· Strong understanding and hands-on implementation of IT systems development and deployment methodologies
· Prefer candidate with experience in successfully dealing directly with Joint Venture and Alliance partnerships to deliver IT systems and services, including participating in due diligence and planning studies
· Prefer candidate with sound knowledge of Plant Floor Manufacturing Execution Systems, Controls and PLC systems technologies
