1. PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Oversee all legal affairs of IDEX Asia Pacific with responsibilities covering a wide range of legal matters, including: commercial agreements, labor law, intellectual property, anti-corruption compliance, export and litigation. Serve also as the designated regional point of contact on IDEX compliance programs, including export control/trade compliance, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and business ethics

3. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Primary point of contact for all legal matters in the region, ensuring that the specialized legal teams are properly engaged and informed as needed
? Support all legal matters arising during negotiation of corporate and commercial agreements, and participate directly in customer negotiations when needed.
? Collaborate with the Asia Pacific leadership team to find improved efficiencies in our commercial process and ensure that our operations are managed in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
? Identify areas of concern and create solutions to mitigating compliance risks
? Ensure that high ethical standards and compliance are exemplified by the behavior of IDEX’s leaders
? Responsible for developing the in-person and web-based compliance training curriculum
? Participate in the development of corporate policies, procedures and programs, and will provide counsel and guidance on all related legal matters

4. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

? LLB (+LLM) law degree required. Preference will be given to candidates with United States (US), United Kingdom (UK) or European legal degrees
? Membership in both People Republic of China (PRC) and a foreign bar qualification.
? 5+ legal experience as a “legal generalist” with significant experience in commercial law, and preferably have worked in the manufacturing industry.
? Have experience in anti-bribery/anti-corruption law (e.g., FCPA, UK Bribery Act)
? Fluent in Mandarin and English.
? Excellent bilingual contact drafting and negotiation skills, organized and able to work independently.
? Desirable to have worked in both a local and international environments.
