The Position

Primary Purpose of Job

• Possesses and maintains state-of-the-art technical skills and knowledge based on analytical chemistry and purification area. Keeps up to date scientific knowledge and be aware of new technology in purification area.
• Be able to coach associates to provide purification services, and solve difficulties in technology.
• Be familiar with separation technology and have strategic vision on purification.
• Be able to manage purification related consumables, spare parts and solvents.
• Communicates effectively orally and in written form. Presents and interprets information and issues clearly and concisely to chemists or in discussions. Actively contributes to scientific discussions at team meetings that help to establish a novel method and solve difficulties in compound separation.
• Is current with all required safety training. Accountable to ensure that all reports are current on afety training and follow Roche laboratory safety practices.

Principle Roles & Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Provide purification services to support pRED China project portfolio. Assist medicinal chemists and process chemists to deliver compounds by required timeline.
• Supervise research assistant(s) for sample purification and sample management.
• Lead the purification daily operation, instruments maintenance and troubleshooting, and consumables management.
• Maintains state-of-the-art technical skills and knowledge based on analytical chemistry and purification area.
• Join in the management meeting discussion, goal setting and functional improvement as well as the productivity achievement

Education/Qualifications

• Master degree with at least 5-year experience or
• Ph.D with at least 3-year experience

• Proactive and with passion in team work
• Track record of strong managerial skill

Job Required Competencies

• HPLC experience is a must ; Fluent in reading, written and oral English
