Scope of Job: A brief description of your role as a general

The IT infrastructure manager is a position within the company China IT organization reporting to the country Director of Information Technology. The IT Infrastructure manager is an IT professional tasked with the architecture, support and management of data centers, network infrastructure and systems. As the chief architect for the business’s supporting infrastructure, the IT Infrastructure manager will need to work closely with various IT functions to provide appropriate infrastructure solutions as well as manage the delivery of the solutions. The IT Infrastructure manager will also be responsible for driving any global infrastructure initiatives directed by the Global/Region Operations team.



Main Accountabilities: A specific description of your main weekly/monthly/yearly responsibilities, please not this is not your concrete annual target or objectives.

· Design and architect a sustainable infrastructure platform for company China. Infrastructure in this respect covers network connectivity (wide-area network as well as local-area network), data center management as well as servers’ management.

· Establish and maintain service levels for infrastructure services. Develop key performance indicators and metrics to drive visibility of service levels.

· Manage vendors providing infrastructure-related outsourced services, e.g. data centers and managed network leased line connectivity.

· Proactively seek to evaluate and deploy appropriate technology to drive improvement in IT service delivery.

· Ensure appropriate general computer, systems and network security controls are in place and effective.

· Define IT policies, disseminate within IT functions and monitor compliance.

· Manage perimeter security. Identify and eliminate network vulnerabilities and design and implement processes for on-going management of security risks.

· Review architecture for proposed network changes to drive consistency in network design, technology standards and potential security risks.

· Develop and manage IT budget for the business unit, ensuring transparency in tracking of IT spend.

Professional Competence:

· 8+ years experience in the IT industry with relevant infrastructure implementation and management experience in various systems platforms and network

· Experience with regional implementation and management of region-wide infrastructure, with particular emphasis on China experience.

· Past experience with managing a team of network and systems engineers.

· BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or IS Management with relevant professional qualifications.

· Experience in the following areas: Cisco products (e.g. switches, firewall, call manager), VPN, WAN technology (MPLS, frame relay, IPLC etc).

· Microsoft operating systems (Windows 2000 / 2003 servers, active directory)

· Strong written and verbal communication skills with a good command of mandarin.

· ITIL or COBIT certification is preferred.

· Good writing and oral English

· Strong communications and presentation skills and extensive experience working with, and communicating with senior management.

· Self-driven, motivated and strong accountability.

· Good at time management

Leadership/Management Competence:

Others:
