Business Introduction:
Microsoft Asia Center for Hardware (MACH) is a fast growing team based in Shenzhen, China, in supporting Microsoft Hardware businesses across the company to design, develop and manufacture computer peripherals, Xbox gaming consoles and accessories, and other hardware devices. We have been successfully developing the product development, manufacturing engineering, and factory management capabilities with an integrated cross-functional team. MACH is currently looking for a passionate, self-motivated leader who has passion to lead our leading edge technical innovations and product development that could make great impact to change the way how people interact with PCs.

Responsibilities: (mandatory)
- Deliver compelling design solutions.
- Develop innovative materials, finishes, and forms.
- Touch multiple projects at various phases of the development cycle.
- Strive for excellence in design, user, quality and craftsmanship of product design solutions.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams to execute on overall project objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
- Help to manage the industrial design implementation process
- Work as an ID ambassador at the Microsoft Asia Center for Hardware
- Work with the ID teams, engineering and manufacturing to ensure a smooth integration of the industrial design into mass manufacturing
- Work with the US ID team and our existing partners to refine the industrial design implementation process
- Build ID as a core competency at the Microsoft Asia Center for Hardware
- Develop competency around materials and processes to be able to implement new materials and finishes

Qualifications: (mandatory)
- A minimum of 5 years work experience in product development.
- Solid knowledge of industrial design, 3D surface development, mechanical engineering, and product development.
- Proficient in 3D applications (Alias, Rhino, Solidworks, or Pro/E)
- A strong portfolio demonstrating breadth and creativity in successful product design, versatility with design and rapid prototyping tools and methods, and a strong understanding of design and creative process is required.
- Consumer-centric design process background with proven ability to deliver design for product families that align with brand vision.
- Strong verbal and visual communication skills.
- A bachelor’s degree in industrial design or product design or similar field is required.
- Some International travel required.

Physical Requirements: (optional)
- Ability to travel frequently overseas and for extended period of time and on short notices.
- Job location at Microsoft Asia Center for Hardware (MACH) in Guangdong, Shenzhen or Suzhou; and will be supporting the manufacturing facilities located in the Guangdong Province or Suzhou.
