Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Provide leadership in developing comprehensive and accurate firmware product test plans with minimal direction, attention to details, patience and passion; strive to ensure maximum test cases coverage
• Provide leadership in building and growing the team’s skills sets in personnel and hardware capabilities
• Effectively communicating with our engineering teams in the US, assist in the alignment process flow between cross-functional teams in resolving test issues in creating quality products
• Leading a team of engineers in applying creative software engineering skills to new and existing technologies to increase firmware testing automation
• Developing forward-thinking firmware test software, tool technology and firmware testing methodology for integration into validation environment
• Training and developing test engineers in firmware testing methodology, technical practices and core testing competencies
• Lead firmware test engineers to successful, on time execution of test plans, work with development team to ensure timely product delivery and qualification
• Coordinate and align large scale firmware test activities that involve multiple test engineers spanning across multiple sites
• Providing input to firmware developers regarding new and existing features, risk assessment for mass production, product reliability and performance issues
• Overseeing bug reporting and tracking, coordinating firmware test engineers to analyze failures and following up with engineering for resolution
• Reproducing technical support cases elevated to firmware development and identifying work around solutions

Successful candidates for this position shall have:

• Experience in managing a firmware test team (Required)
• At least five years or equivalent experience in embedded firmware testing, with some demonstration of successful products that entered mass production
• §Extensive hands-on experience with functional and regression testing of products embedded software (firmware), deep knowledge in creation of product test plans and configuring test scenarios for embedded software development
• Highly motivated, detail oriented, systematic and methodical approach in firmware testing, follow through on every bug from discovery to resolution
• The ability to work and communicate effectively in a team and be able to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced working environment
• Familiarity with software engineering development lifecycle helpful
• Knowledge of IEEE Standards 829-1998 and 1008-1987 helpful
• Knowledge of Standards for Software Test Documentation and Software Unit Testing helpful
• Knowledge of mass storage system, Flash memory (NAND / NOR), SATA / SAS protocol, RAID, Drivemaster, Flexstart scripting and automated testing experience (Highly Preferred)
• Knowledge of memory flash translation layer, wear leveling and garbage collection (Highly Preferred)
• Experience in test suite architecture definition and development is preferred
• Experience in Python development is preferred
• Experience in Continuous Integration and Verification Process is preferred
• Fluent in both English and Chinese (Highly Preferred)
