We are searching for a Firmware Architect Consultant to provide consultation to Micron Technology’s firmware development team in Shanghai.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Offering experience and wisdom to our management and firmware team on development and project execution in Shanghai
• Acting as a communication bridge between our team and U.S. system engineering team to assist an aligned process flow that can be executed between cross functional teams;
• Help our Shanghai based team to work closely with fellow US based firmware team, system hardware design team, product engineering team and Flash memory design team to solve cross-functional design issues, therefore to ensure the quality of the products;
• Offering experience in detail engineering discipline such as coding style, code review process, branch and trunk management, firmware module unit test methodology, etc.
• Offering experience in using analysis equipment or software to effectively analyze and resolve functional or performance issues with the firmware and hardware in test environments or target host systems.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates for this position will have:

• 15+ years of experience in field of mass storage firmware development in US company or global company
• Experience in test equipment (i.e. oscilloscope, logic/bus analyzers and code tracers)
• Strong hands-on firmware design and debug experience
• Ability to work in a demanding environment with a group of energetic young engineers
• Ability to embrace culture differences with warm heart and open mind
• Knowledge of mass storage systems (hard disk), Flash memory (NAND / NOR), and device drivers
• Knowledge of mass storage interfaces such as ATA, SATA, and SAS/FC
• Knowledge of flash translation layer, wear leveling, and garbage collection
• Willing to work fulltime in Shanghai
