The Configuration Engineer Role will have the opportunity to work with a global team and to be a key contributor in the configuration control of Engineering Bills of Materials and Standards. In this role you will have opportunity to contribute to the execution, as well as the continuous improvement of the configuration management processes. The Role tracks and manages the Standard Drawings and Bills of Material (BOMs) to ensure that accurate configuration is maintained as design changes are made and new designs introduced.

Responsibilities:

· Adhere to configuration management standards, change criteria and part number change requirements for Engineering drawings/parts and BOMs.
Ensure adherence to H-GE’s Configuration Control Manual (CCM) guidelines, policies and associated Work Instructions.
· Analyze proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall system, cross-product impact and coordinates modifications of Features & Options, · Master Block BOM’s and affected Requisition projects.
· Review the Configuration chart created/submitted by Engineers for structure, logic and identification of impacted parts list. Make final decision on revising vs. re-identification per the established guidelines.
· Maintain BOM integrity by properly structuring/re-structuring for new products or changes to an existing design. Attend Design Reviews, as needed, and provide input when Product Configuration and new BOM are to be reviewed.
· Provide a single point of responsibility and authority for Configuration Management for both internal and external inquiries. Serving as a technical expert for our configuration management capabilities and strategies.
· Work closely with Supply Chain, Materials and Services teams to evaluate impact of CM decisions. Address their concerns and resolve issues as reported.
· Keep monitoring product configuration, make recommendation for improvement; update work instruction/guidelines as necessary and provide training. Communicate with key stakeholders.
· Coordinate engineering changes with all stakeholders. Ensure, changes are processed and communicated in a timely fashion.

Qualifications/Requirements:
· BS degree in a technical discipline (Mechanical/Electrical).
· Five years engineering experience
· Two years experience with Power Generation equipment (Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Reciprocating Engines, Generators)
· Demonstrated ability to work with a cross-functional team
· Proven interpersonal skills / Strong Communication Skills
· English Speaking, Reading, Writing capabilities (CET-6 certification)


Desired:
· Master’s Degree in Engineering
· Functional knowledge of Gas turbine power plant configuration & operation
· Practical expertise on power plant Engineering, design, operation and/or construction.
