Spirol International is a global leader in the provision of design engineering solutions to the fastener industry. Spirol Asia is headquartered in WaiGaoQiao, and wants to add an enigneer to the staff in order to provide engineering solutions in a timely manner to customers across the Asia Pacific region.

Spirol solutions are predominantly provided to the automotive industry, however, experience of various industries would be a definite advantage. Pinning and alignement solutions are provided to various host materials, including a range of plastic and metals and thus experience of fastener engineering would be beneficial in this role.

NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION:

Independently and professionally manages a variety of assigned projects in a responsive and timely manner from conception to completion. Will interface with internal and external customers and other engineering staff. Emphasis is on project management in assigned area of responsibility. The Engineer will have a specific area of specialization and will be typically expected to work within this area. Project management responsibility includes all of the following engineering functions:
Product development design, application, and enhancement.
Product and equipment specifications.
Process development, specification and documentation.
Vendor qualification.
Production equipment specification and procurement.
Standardization of processes, methods, and designs.
Technical support for non-technical staff in all parts of the company.
These responsibilities shall be carried out in a flexible, pro-active and decisive manner always focusing on the needs of the internal and/or external customer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will have responsibility and authority for coordinating the engineering projects assigned. This includes everything from establishing the project objectives to verification that these objectives have been met, including but not limited to, coordination of all information and actions associated with the design, development, documentation, procurement, assembly, testing and training as they relate to the project.
Interface with internal and external customers to clearly identify and agree upon the needs to be addressed and met.
Estimate and document the projected cost of projects/products, monitor costs of projects assigned.
Establish priorities, schedule work and maintain schedules.
Continuously improve the knowledge base as it relates to all of the Company's products, equipment and processes and make recommendation relative to product enhancement, improved productivity, quality, reduced cost and improved safety.
Stay current with all pertinent technology and maintain the necessary skill level to function effectively in the position.
Participate in Company sponsored training programs, both as a trainer and participant.
Submit monthly activity reports to the SBU Manager pertaining to all areas of assigned responsibility.
Achieve mutually agreed upon personal objectives.
Achieve customer satisfaction.
Display technical leadership and image.
Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and safety rules and regulations.
SBU Manager may assign such other specific responsibilities from time to time.
Promotes continuous improvement by proactively identifying issues and providing solutions with the goal of reducing cost and improving performance.
Making product recommendations based on personally engineered and corporate engineered products.
Completing testing of various products. Ie insertion, columnar, dimensional, etc.
Creation/recommendation of manufacturing processes and improvements.
Costing/estimating of products.
Providing technical assistance to sales staff and customers.
