GENERAL SUMMARY:
To define the test plan and lead a team of professional test engineers to execute test activities to systematically build quality into application throughout all SDLC. Key responsibilities as below:
- Responsible for the project success from the testing prospective
- Define the optimal approach to drive quality improvement, cycle time compression and cost saving
- Assist project manager in project testing activities management
- Technical leadership
- Team building, resource performance management
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Duty 1 – Project Responsibilities – 80%
Assist Project Managers to plan/strategize the testing activity towards project objective and then lead a team of test engineers to execute the test engineering tasks.

2. Duty 2 – Team Responsibilities - 10%
Responsible for the following tasks:
- Act as the subject matter expert of assigned business domain, methodology and technology
- Take technical leadership to improve the overall efficiency and quality
- Cross functional communication & customer interface
- Deliverables & progress for the testing activities
- Develop periodical status report
- Host periodical team meeting
- Maintain project binder (testing part)
- Participate in the change control board
- Collect and report project metrics
3. Duty 3 –Organizational Responsibilities - 10%
Responsible for the following tasks:
- Team staffing & recruiting
- Team career planning & leadership supply
- Team resume and competency management
- Team performance management & probation review
- Team training program
- Business development & marketing/sales support
- Prepare sales collaterals & marketing materials
- Host periodical team meeting
- Direct continuous process and technology improvement
- Direct knowledge sharing and knowledge repository
- Direct the testing part of the CMMi5 certification
4. Duty 4 – Common
- Maintain high level of utilization, productivity and quality according to company standard
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
Position Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Competencies: Skills, knowledge, & abilities
Functional Competencies:
Qualify for the following:
- Solution leader for domain/platform specific testing solutions (Manual, Automation, Performance)
- Expert in test planning, strategy, estimation
- Expert in test project management and reporting
- Experienced in setup & maintain high complexity test environment
- Product specialist for test automation tools (QF-Test and Grinder is a plus)
- Understanding of software development process such as Unified Process/Iterative/Agile & testing process
- Experience in development tools/scripting (Java/JEE knowledge is a plus)
- Experience in SQL
- Experience in XML
- Experience in C/S testing
- Excellent English communication skills.
Good to have skills:
- Experience in mainstream platform such as Unix, Linux and Microsoft
- Biological industry experience or background
- Experience of architecture design and business analysis
- Bear international certifications such as ISTQB/CSTE
- Understanding of IT outsourcing industry
- Thought leader in technology and process innovation (Agile Testing, Model Driven Testing)

2) Experience:
Over 8 years of QA experience with BS or CS in CS in a commercial software/Internet company
3) Minimum educational level:
BS (4 years) + or equivalent
