BROAD FUNCTIONS:
(a) To perform Field Applications testing of new firmware with customer platforms (new and existing) as “early-look” for compatibility problems during Customer integration process.
(b) To perform Failure Analysis (obtain bus trace, perform bus-trace analysis, etc) on HDD-compatibility related failures received from external customers in a timely manner.
(b) To work closely with Field Application Engineers in supporting on-site FA and other customer requests.
(c) To work closely with Factory Engineering teams to address customer line DPPM and field return rate issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Regular Duties / Responsibilities:
(a) Perform compatibility testing when new codes are released that are being tested in FIT on customer system prior to release. Scope of works include new designs that are yet to be launched by the customer. Only selected codes to be tested.
(b) Perform FIT suite test in field with focus on applications and integration processware (WinPE platforms).
(c) Perform FA (bus trace analysis) for failures to determine failure mechanism and pursue appropriate corrective action.
(d) Maintain good and accurate records of failure analysis findings.
(e) Work closely with Factory Engineering teams (Failure Analysis, Product Engineering, Firmware Engineering, Servo Engineering,etc) on HDD activities for DPPM reduction and Reliability improvement.
(f) Support Field Application Engineers in relation to customer requirements – handling technical information, on-site failure analysis support, handling customer lab audits and providing training for customers on request.
(g) Supervise Lab Equipment installation and Maintenance.
(h) Ensure team-members follow safety and house-keeping rules.
(i) Report accidents, incidents, hazardous conditions and acts to immediate supervisor.

2. Irregular Duties / Responsibilities:
(a) Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Educational Required: Master / Bachelor Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
Skill:
Experiences Required: At least 3 years experience in a related Electronics Engineering field.
Other Requirement: Good spoken and written command of English.
Good communicator.
