Key Responsibilities

1. Conceives original ideas for new products. Obtains ideas for new product requirements from customers, Marketing and Sales personnel, literary searches, etc., and translates these needs into product solutions and new design concepts that are technically sound, economical and manufacturable.
2. Reviews patent searches or enlists the help of the Patent Department to determine patentability of proposed designs and to insure that others' patents are not infringed upon.
3. Determines performance and construction and other technical data relative to the design of new products. Performs engineering calculations to analyze and describe the project. Prepares preliminary development time and manufacturing cost estimates.
4. Conveys concepts and specifications to Drafters and Designers through verbal descriptions, sketches, and design layouts. Directs these personnel in the preparation of detailed drawings.
5. Participates in concept and development design review meetings for the purpose of evaluating design requirements and developing production plans. Assists in modifying designs to meet requirements, simplify, improve manufacturability or make other improvements.
6. Assists in defining, requesting, and coordinating the purchase of materials, equipment and support services for the fabrication of models, prototypes and samples. Directs support personnel in the completion of such projects.
7. Develops product testing procedures, equipment and evaluation techniques in collaboration with Test and Reliability Engineers and authorizes tests. Analyzes results, applying theoretical engineering knowledge, then describes and reports results, giving conclusions and recommendations.
8. Utilizes computer aided engineering tools such as CAE, CAD, PC's etc. to increase productivity, quality and efficiency of product development, design and analysis.
9. May interface with customers, vendors, Marketing personnel and other Engineering functions to analyze and solve problems encountered during the concept, development and introduction stages of new products.
10. Reviews Engineering Change Notices (ECN's) for all items within the realm of project assignments and their effect on function and cost.
11. Maintains project records and prepares technical progress reports, summaries and papers. Transfers all pertinent information developed through research, analysis, calculation and testing to Product Engineering, Marketing or Manufacturing Engineering when appropriate.
12. Maintain and manage project files according to LEANPD procedure.
13. Work with project management tools and PDM systems.
14 The Development Engineer may also involve the development of processes, manufacturing methods, or operating procedures related to new concepts and products.

Job Requirements

1. Min. of 5 years in Telecom product development (ODF, outdoor cabinets) / electro-mechanical design
2. Good project management skills
3. Basic knowledge of injection moulding, tooling, etc.
4. Good presentation skills

5 Fluent oral & writing English
6. BSEE of Telecommunication/Electro-mechanical/Mechanical Engineering
7. Self-motivated, aggressive, open-minded and integrated
8. Good problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
9. Good in time management and planning
10. Good teamwork and cooperation spirit
