JOB PROFILE AND DESCRIPTION
Production Engineer is responsible for developing and improving production processes to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards of the business. Utilization of skills to continuously improve the production process eliminating non-value added activities. Individual is expected to interact in collaboration with production team in Shanghai plant, as well as with management team in Hamden Connecticut USA to achieve goals and objectives. Must be growth oriented individual who has internal drive to improve current processes and continually drive team to perform to maximum potential.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Responsible for overseeing safety, quality, and efficiency of production processes.
2. Detail oriented individual who insures all production processes are being followed.
3. Investigate production problems. Evaluate data and current production processes and equipment in order to recommend changes in processes or procedures and initiate agreed on corrective actions.
4. Meet quality requirements by analyzing capability studies, control charts, and other statistical data and methods.
5. Analyze and plan work force utilization and space requirements of equipment, as well as material flow for safety and maximum efficiency.
6. Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to coordinate with management team staffing,production capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate the production process.
7. Drive continuous improvement of the production process identifying and eliminating waste and non-value added activities resulting in lower production costs.
8. Coordinate with SSH in the transition of new technology and equipment to insure transition is transparent to customers in all aspects particularly quality and delivery.
9. Support local sourcing efforts working with management team to identify and qualify local suppliers of raw materials and MRO items for both the China and United States operations. Evaluate on combination of quality, delivery, and price.
10. Support work of the Operations team which includes performing equipment and system studies, research and evaluate process equipment, review and recommend modifications of manufacturing process as a result of troubleshooting.

CORE COMPETENCIES-KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
? Engineering or Technical degree, Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
? Team player and able to build and maintain relationships both internal and external.
? Flexible to change with willingness to perform a variety of duties without being asked, hands on individual.
? Strong analytical skills-ability to analyze situation and identify cause and affect relationship. Ability to make decision based on data and take action to improve situation.
? Project management, leadership, and teamwork skills are important to insure project comes to completion on time and on budget.
? Detail oriented individual.
? Proficient in English-both written and verbal skills. Communicate details effectively with local and international coworkers.
? 5-10 years of Process Engineering experience-preferred in electrical manufacturing
? Lean manufacturing experience or exposure to lean concepts.
