Role Summary/Purpose
This role is a member of Global Communication team that provides a broad array of internal & external communication strategies and tactics for GE’s Global Research organization and the GE China Technology Center. Specifically, the Communication team is responsible for delivering organizational communication to all of Global Research’s sites & key external audiences, managing community relations and supporting executive communications.

Essential Responsibilities
•Develop and execute an integrated communication strategy and programs which support CTC employee engagement and key business initiatives; •Manage relations with key external audiences, such as government agencies and universities; •Develop media strategies to promote GE’s presence in China and the technology being developed there; •Oversee the China Technology Center web sites, other marketing collateral materials, organization communication & news articles/updates etc.; •Provide marketing and communication council for an on-campus recruiting & lead/organize key employee events; •Promote the activities of the GE Fund and GE Volunteers in the local community; •Support CTC General Manager and leadership team through speech writing and presentation development.

Qualifications/Requirements
•Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field;•10+ years’ experience in Communication; with heavy emphasis on media relations and technology story-telling;•Proven ability to develop and implement communications strategies that facilitate change and drive business initiatives;•Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in collaboration, facilitation & team building;•Fluency in Chinese and English with excellent writing and presentation skills;•Ability to manage projects, work with cross-functional teams & deliver on commitments in a matrix environment;•High energy level and ability to energize others;•An aptitude for digital communications technology;•Proficiency in MS-office tools.To ensure your 100% compliance with the Safe Production Law of P.R. China and with GE’s EHS Policy (20.3), all CTC employees must:Understand and comply with CTC’s EHS Policy, safety instructions and established job specific safety procedures and rules; correctly use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE); obey PPE signals; complete applicable EHS training; participate in accident, injury & illness prevention activities; enhance their knowledge of risk mitigation and emergency response skills; and timely report near-miss cases, unsafe conditions and acts.

GE中国研究开发中心（CTC）是GE公司四个全球研发中心之一，是跨业务集团、跨研究领域的研发机构，为GE各业务集团提供基础科学研究、新产品开发、工程开发和采购服务。

中心坐落于上海张江高科技园区，占地面积47,000平方米，于2003年5月投入使用，是国内最大的独立外资研发机构之一，也是国内极少数具有基础科学研究能力的企业研发中心。

GE中国研发中心现有研发人员1400多人，60多个拥有世界一流设备的实验室，其研究力量主要集中在以下领域：

• 清洁能源，包括洁净煤、风电、太阳能发电等；
• 水处理与海水淡化；
• 材料科学，包括纳米材料、晶体、陶瓷，材料分析；
• 电力电子和实时控制；
• 先进制造技术；
• 影像技术；
• 化学技术，如导电高分子，电化学技术;
• 传感与检测技术；
• LED照明；
• 交通运输等

GE中国研发中心每年完成100多个研究项目。截至2009年底，GE在中国的研发人员共申请了450余项专利。
