Position Overview
This Application Development Engineer (ADE) position will be focused on the automotive and electronic industry within Hard Coating Segment in Coating Business Unit. This Business Unit is currently focused on developing markets in China (including Taiwan) relating automotive exterior and handheld device. It is very strategic for future global growth in this fast-paced industry and will report to the Senior Regional Segment Leader for Asia Pacific.
This position will work closely with customers, to identify, specify and close new business opportunities for Auto and Electronics industry. He/she will establish long-term relationships that help Momentive to better understand the needs of our customers, with the goal of delivering differentiated products and services. Strong commercial, technical, negotiating and value-selling skills along with a strong customer focus are a must.
Additionally, this position will develop relationships and work collaboratively with equipment manufacturers to develop system solutions that provide improved efficiencies.
As this is a Global Industry, this position will regularly interact with a dedicated global team sharing best practices, translating opportunities and driving growth programs.
Job Responsibilities
? Drive technical sales specifications of materials for global and regional Auto/Electronics customers.
? Technically support distribution channels, leveraging these resources for growth.
? Lead customer visits independently, or in coordination with other members of the marketing and commercial team, in order to clearly articulate Momentive’s product offering using a value-selling approach.
? Coordinate customer testing requirements inside our global Application Labs
? Develop strategic relationships with select equipment manufacturers to help them design equipment to run our materials. Work collaboratively to close new business.
? Perform promotional activities including participation in tradeshows and conferences, and assist in the development of New Product roll-out and sales packages.
? Regular report outs on regional market intelligence, competitive activities and market trends.
? Extensive travel to customers, distributors, and equipment manufacturers will required.
Qualifications
? B.S. Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
? Knowledge of Handheld Device or Automotive industry
? Written and spoken fluency in English and Chinese required
? Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a cross-functional team environment.
? Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced industry with strong teamwork and communication skills
? Demonstrated ability to develop customer/Industry relationships and trust
? Prefer 3 years or more of technical support or technical sales experience in value-selling
? Previous work within the coating technology market required
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills
? Strong passion for learning and embracing change
? Teamwork and customer focus
? Resourceful and entrepreneurial behavior
? High-energy, self-motivated personality driven to succeed
? Written and spoken fluency in Korean would be a plus
