1) This is a key position responsible for Sealant Products management for APAC (ex-Japan) regions based in Shanghai, China. Reporting to Global Product Manager in USA, and working closely with the Sales Director Asia. Expectation is for this role to quickly learn our product portfolio and the manufacturing base to support it, while activily engaging with the sales teams to drive pricing decisions. As new products are launched, this role plays a key part in the scale up to full production. Ultimately, this role plays a key part in achieving our growth and profit targets.
2) Manage and set pricing based on competitive landscape, while understanding cost impactss to achieve growth and profitablitly targets.
3) Lead sealant product portfolio optimization through the rationalization of non-performing products, and the management of slow moving and out of spec inventory.
4) Drive commercialisation and scale up activities in NPI process 5) Liaison between commercial, Maufacturing, Supply Chain and technology functions.Lead Pacific team interactions with the Basics sector on material costing and plant utilization (Rayong & Nantong).
1) Demand management for Greater China, Korea, and South Pacific regions, lead commercial team to provide accurate demand forecast for the SIOP process, as well as prioritize allocations during demand hold situations.
2) Drive and support Global product specification, including grade name, packaging, QA process, including coordinating multiple-location product qualification
3) Owns unit margin targets and price strategy (walklines) to maximize profitability
4) Sets price based on accurate market, competitive and cost information (Tracks inter-market pricing)
5) Identify candidates/ needs for reformulation/ product redesign to drive product cost productivity – BOM, direct material productivity
6) Drive /own NPI process at commercialization
7) Product portfolio optimization
- Leads management of commercial slow moving inventory
- Product obsolescence action plan
8) Liaison between commercial/ manufacturing /SCM / technology
9) Coordinate product certification with EH&S and local regulatory requirements (China GB, etc.,)
10) Sample management
11) Responsible for calculating Cash Costs of materials within region and updating regularly with the Basics team.
1) 5+ years experience in Sealant or Construction industry, working knowledge in curtainwall industry will be an advantage.
2) 5+ years in sales or marketing position preferred
3) Good communication skills and experience to lead cross functional / cross cultural team
4) Strong analytical skill and proficiency in Excel, Power points, and comfortable with data mining
1) Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline, chemical, building materials, etc
2) MBA preferred
3) Good communications skills in Chinese and English
