As part of the Product Development Teams, the Product Development Engineer is critical to the development of interconnect solutions for our customers, which are mainly in the medical industry. We are looking for a motivated self-starter to help design and develop new products. The successful candidate will work closely with sales, application engineers and manufacturing to develop and introduce new products, as well as improve existing products.
Key Responsibility Areas:
? Responsible for accuracy and quality of product development.
? Facilitate and manage portions of new product development and introduction process.
? Integrate product design and manufacturing processes to ensure smooth transition to manufacturing.
? Responsible for documenting the processing steps required to manufacture products.
? Responsible for product release documentation (validation & test protocols plans, Inspection Procedures, First Article Acceptance, production routings, work instructions, and visual aids etc.)
? Balance customer expectations/wants and EMC capabilities/abilities.
? Provides support to customer and customer focus teams.
? Helps manage continuous improvement projects, both EMC and customer initiated.
Position Requirements:
? Effective communication, interaction, and cooperation skills with manufacturing, sales, other EMC personnel, as well as customers and suppliers
? Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to be self managed, give and receive critical feedback, and possess the desire to “win as a team”
? Broad engineering abilities and understanding of electrical, mechanical, and mfg/industrial engineering disciplines (general understanding of each, with focus in one or more of these disciplines).
? A working knowledge of SolidWorks and/or ProE
? Demonstrated ability to successfully develop products
? Experience with performing DOEs and statistical data analysis highly beneficial
? Wire, cable, and interconnect experience beneficial
? Medical/FDA experience/knowledge beneficial
? Project Mgmt skills desired
? Education and experience per job level and company need
