POSITION SUMMARY
? This is a temporary, supplemental staff position that will contribute to a small Strategic Business Development team tasked to develop and guide the implementation of NBA China's overall strategy in the area of marketing partners.
? The ideal candidate must have strong analytical and interpersonal skills and be able to articulate effectively with internal NBA team members and client/industry senior executives. The candidate must possess strong experience in sports marketing, an understanding of relevant industry trends in China, adequate skills to come up w/ innovative marketing solutions for marketing partners, as well as significant leadership skills and potential.
? The position reports to the Senior Director, Global Marketing Partnerships.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
? Directly contribute to the creation and implementation of NBA China's MP strategy.
? Gather and analyze information, from both internal and external sources wherever meaningful, to assist senior GMP and NBA China management in the identification of key categories and desirable MP targets to focus on, as well as a compelling value proposition of NBA to these categories/targets.
? Recognize client and prospect business culture/objectives in the China market context, and help develop a "conceptual selling" approach for NBA China's MP teams.
? Provide market/client inputs into the development of strategic and creative platforms and programs at NBA China that are designed to grow overall partner relationships and attract new, targeted partners, and at the same time further build up the NBA brand.
? Develop differentiated and integrated solutions to existing and prospective marketing partners through the creation of new platform/programs as above, as well as packaging and customization of these platform/programs tailoring to specific MP needs.
? Structure, develop, and occasionally participate in the negotiation of strategic marketing relationships; manage presentation development.
REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
? Bilingual fluency in English and Mandarin
? Deep professional experience in both Western and Chinese environments
? 2-3 years of Marketing, Consulting, Media, Advertising, Business or Corporate Development experience in the Greater China market, preferably within the Sports/Media/Digital/Entertainment sectors
? Ability to work effectively in global matrix organization; NBA experience /knowledge a plus
? Track record of leading or advising companies on strategy formulation and execution
? Directly relevant experience in sports marketing; NBA experience /knowledge a plus
? Board/management experience a plus
