The Supplier Quality Engineer is primarily focused on strategic activities within Procurement. Activities include, but are not limited to:
Select, audit and develop a secure qualified panel of suppliers by using corporate policies and procedures.
Ensure flawless launches through good component quality performance
Control and own the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) Process for each component until the PPAP is ready to be signed by the plant quality/SQA.
Manage the escalation process in case of degradation of vendor performances.


Responsible for supplier assessment and continuous monitoring for existing and potential new suppliers
In case of quality issues monitors the progress of the supplier activities, assures that internal and external resources are utilized as required, organizes regular updates, follows up on corrective actions, and monitors effectivity of solutions provided and implemented until issue is completely resolved.
Performs Pre-Qualification Audits of new Suppliers to qualify a company as a supplier for KSS.
Performs Process Audits according to VDA 6.3 and Heat Treatment Audits
Monitors the monthly supplier performance results and follows up for the critical issues. On the basis of these performance results reviews defines the supplier status (Approved, New Business Hold, Desource).
Keeps Global Supplier Directory (GSD) updated.
Organizes business review meetings in case of necessary escalation in order to ensure management involvement.
Starting, developing, and monitoring the APQP tracking file for each part number. Follow up on any deviation from schedule and bring back on track until PPAP is completed and ready for approval by plant
Interacts routinely with Purchasing, Engineering and Suppliers to pro-actively improve quality of components.
Monitors Supplier for continuous improvement and mid and long term improvement actions.
Attends to Early Supplier Involvement (ESI) meetings for each part number and defines with the multidisciplinary team the Control Level (CLD)
Trains suppliers in APQP activities including effective PFMEA’s, Control plans, flow-charts, problem solving, PPAP submission, Run @ Rate completion, Launch Containment System, and effective use of applied statistics, and sub-supplier audits.
Continuously drives supplier development and process optimization with assigned suppliers in order to ensure that objectives with respect to quality, cost, timing, delivery, services and environmental compliance are met.
Ensures that lessons learned are shared with all SQE’s globally.


KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITIES

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the automotive industry in quality management systems, auditing, and project management.
Ability to provide, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans.
Willingness to travel; flexible in terms of travel and location？
Well versed in problem solving methodologies
Good conflict resolution skills
Good negotiation skills
PC literate in Windows environment (Excel on advance level)
