Chapin House is a warehouse showroom specializing in fine home furnishings and accessories. With over 4,300 sqm of showroom/warehouse space, we provide an unparalleled selection of products to satisfy our customers.
We focus our efforts to fulfill the needs of foreigners arriving and living in Shanghai. Providing everything as they attempt to make their house in Shanghai their “home-away-from-home". Comfortable down-filled sofas and chairs, warm rustic wood tables made of reclaimed elm, teak, acacia, and iron. Luxurious memory foam mattresses, soft & durable rugs, decorative lamps, exquisite porcelain plates, quality stainless silverware, plush 100% cotton towels and bed linens.
In addition to traditional retail sales, we currently provide relocation packages to families moving to Shanghai from all over the world. Hired by the relocation agency, or the Fortune 500 company themselves, we provide whole home solutions so the family can arrive with their suitcases and move in to a beautifully furnished home.
We are currently seeking to hire a Business Development Consultant to introduce our company to these relocation agencies and Fortune 500 companies. We have a proven track record of success and contacts with these companies, we need someone to focus our efforts in this direction.
This position is to grow sales by cultivating additional business from current customers and recruiting new customers (primarily B2B customers). The consultant will promote Chapin House products and services by arranging informational meetings with potential clients. Once their needs are understood and solutions are presented, the consultant will provide support to these customers within the Shanghai market.
Chapin House will provide in-house training so the consultant will have a thorough knowledge of our products and services in advance of the first meetings.
Duties will include:
√ Work directly with the General Manager of Chapin House to identify potential customers (both B2B and B2C).
√ Call potential new customers to set up meetings.
√ Prepare and conduct sales presentations of products to these customers.
√ Use Powerpoint (and other sales materials) to introduce Chapin House’s products and services.
√ Provide personal attention for the clients needs and deliver superior customer service.
√ Maintain a database of current and potential clients.
√ Reporting results directly to the owner of Chapin House.
√ Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth.
Salary range will be based upon the skills of each applicant. There will be a base salary with commission from sales generated.
Minimum 2 years in similar position (3+ years sales experience preferred).
Professional demeanor, selling style, and appearance. Must have a sense of humor.
Solid written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin.
Self motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
High level of integrity, passion and work ethic.
Ability to successfully work independently of daily direction.
Candidates need to be presentable and show a sense of personal and professional style. Very good English or better is required as the company operates in English.
