Responsibilities
1. Design and create high quality firmware engineering specifications and architecture design for embedded gas detection system based on product target specifications, as well as application notes or technical articles.
2. Develop high reliability application firmware and middleware frameworks for various MCU-based embedded system.
3. Participate in the planning of project management according to safety life cycle, management of the development project of control unit at the level of functional safety.
4. Troubleshoot, maintain, improve and utilize the existing code base and propose improvement plans when necessary.
5. Involve in application level software design and development for various reference designs.

Mandatory Skills
1. Must have a proven experience in development in C on embedded systems based on microcontrollers, assembler is an add-on.
2. Must have a proven experience in designing application firmware and drivers for several kinds of peripherals under RTOS, such as FreeRTOS, uCOS-II, eCOS, etc.
3. Good understanding of hardware, software and system design methodologies and processes for portable instruments.
4. Must have a proven experience in software development flow (version control, bug tracking, software delivery, coding standard, etc.). Embedded Software Development Project Management experience is a plus.
5. Must have a proven knowledge in project management fundamentals, organization, process, planning and control.
6. Must communicate fluently in English, either by reading, writing or speaking.

Preferred Skills
1. Preferred to have a proven experience in safety life cycle standard, IEC 61508-3 or EN 50271.
2. Preferred experience in middleware development.
3. Preferred have knowledge of one or more communication protocols (such as USB, Ethernet, and Industry Field Bus etc.) and the stack design.
4. Preferred experience in wireless protocols, such as Zigbee, Wifi etc.
5. Preferred working experience in ARM and MSP430 based systems.

Education & Experience
1. Bachelor or Master Degree of Electrical Engineering, Controls, Computer Science or equivalent.
2. 8+ years of experience in embedded firmware development.
3. 6+ years of working experience in the high-tech industry.
