Responsibilities:

1. Plan, Lead and coordinate localization, cost containment projects for assigned commodities together with other functions from project identification to completion. Use the gated project management process to drive on time project completion.

2. Manage the commodity (commodities) in charge to assess gaps such as risk and opportunities. That includes identification of new suppliers based on business needs, assess supplier’s capabilities recommend best fit supplier and evaluate total cost benefits. Or phasing out of non performing suppliers.

3. Management of key suppliers through building of relationship and reviews, providing feedback and assessing training needs and developments for suppliers’ continuous improvement.

4. Lead negotiation with suppliers for long-term agreements (contracts) or improvement programs with a focus on performance on cost, quality, lead-time, service level and capacity to provide speed and flexibility.

5. Track and forecast material inflation by commodity and suppliers’ performance and taking corrective actions for improvement.

6. Be the commodity expert and to keep abreast of developments in the commodity and industry. Assist and participate in Design for Sourcing during start up in New Product Development.

7. Performs any other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Metallurgic/Manufacturing Engineering.

2. At least 8 years’ product sourcing and localization experience, or 3 years’ sourcing plus 2 years technical experience on Investment Castings, Sand Casting, Al Die Casting, Stamping, Forging, Machining, Spring, Molded Rubber, Custom Molded Plastics in multinational company.

3. Min 3 years in a Commodity Manager role.

4. Excellent negotiation and project management skill.

5. Assertive, aggressive and confident and initiative.

6. Good command of English (written/oral) and Excel, Powerpoint and Microsoft Project Management Skills.

7. Be willing to travel across Asia Pacific for about 40~60% of time.

8. Prior experience in Emerson’s procurement and supply chain with knowledge of IM, MIN, ECM, PARTS ANALYSIS and E- Sourcing will be an advantage.

9. Prior experience in a regional AP role will be an advantage.
