Essential Responsibilities
The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for understanding all of the processes related to the welding, inspection and machining of steel & tube products, with a focus on process & product quality control and improvement.
This person will drive supplier quality through the following:
- Initial Supplier Screening (Quality system and EHS (Environmental, Health, Safety) evaluation);
- Conduct Product/Process Audits with suppliers and drive continuous process improvements;
- Develop suppliers to improve their ability on quality control; Lead and verify the Corrective Action resolution & implementation for non-conformities;
- Work with global, cross functional groups (Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Sourcing) to solve quality and productivity problems and improve process capability;
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and above
- 5-7 years working experience in a manufacturing or quality role, 3+ years focus on supplier quality management
- Knowledge / experiences in steel industry is preferable
- Good verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English with global team
- Strong project managing skills.
- Proven ability to work independently in a self-directed environment.
- Knowledge of Lean/6 sigma &/or experience with SPC tools (Six Sigma green belt preferred).
- Knowledge of mechanical system manufacturing, dimensional tolerance &/or quality control.
- Ability to travel (expect 40-70% travel to supplier locations).
