PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To define the capacity needs for all transport services and make timely, comprehensive, quality assured capacity planning information available, supporting the Transport processes and in turn the general task of the transport organisation.

ASSIGNMENTS:

Within the Transport Area, responsible for planning, initiating & co-ordinating all area related capacity planning activities.

? Provide input to the purchasing process by actively identifying and analysing IKEA’s goods flows, in order to take the first step towards defining a delivery set-up by establishing routes, along with planned volumes.
? Provide input to running business by making capacity planning available to our Transport
Service Providers in accordance to the existing delivery set-up and transport agreement structure
? Monitor, analyse, control and following up capacity planning with the goal to secure
quality and transport costs efficiency
? Secure the creation & maintenance of routes according to the delivery set-up, derived from the Supply Chain need for Transport services
? Provide input to the pricing process (set CALC price)–specially on volumes, new & ended routes etc.
? Create and implement area action plans related capacity aspects, in line with transport global strategies.
? Implement global routines and working methods with all partners in the Supply Chain
? Provide expertise/support in transport capacity planning issues.

? Transport key figures
? Capacity Planning information quality (“prognosis deviation”).

KNOWLEDGE:

? University degree (logistics, economics) or equivalent in working experience
? 2-3 years experience from the supply chain (preferably transport and/or DC operations)
? Understanding of the supplying & capacity planning process and in particular - transport capacity planning
? Advanced knowledge in calculation methods and analyses tools
? Understanding of the transport industry
? Fluent in English, both written and spoken
