职位描述
Specific Functions:
1.Work in tandem with Asia Sourcing, International Merchandising, Trend and Design and Quality Assurance Teams to develop marketable, safe and cost efficient products and processes across all product categories.
*Foster open communication via frequent phone / email / in person communication with the Asia Sourcing, International Merchandising and Trend and Design teams to understand US Merchandising’s goals and direction for specific product categories.
*Focus on critical, technically challenging and / or high profile product categories as appointed by Manufacturing Development Manager.
*Participate in buying trips with overseas visitors as requested by Sourcing Teams.
*Assist sourcing teams with analyzing product spec and performance criteria to determine whether the product is competitive in benchmarking.
*Assist sourcing teams to analyze BOM and cost structures to determine where cost savings / efficiencies can be gained or validated.
*Work with Sourcing Team and vendors to evaluate / validate product development and production timelines. Assist them in streamlining process whenever possible to meet or shorten the required timelines.
2.Responsible for developing and cultivating product and process improvement opportunities, along with vendor partnerships to meet current and future needs according to strategic direction of product categories.
*Average travel of 2 days per week to new and existing vendor factory locations to monitor or evaluate vendor factory testing, manufacturing process and related outputs are able to meet Lowe’s requirement. Overnight travel is required.
*Review vendor’s overall current and potential product capabilities to determine if there are opportunities across sourcing teams.
*Communicate effectively and ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
3.Participate in resolution critical manufacturing situations as issues arise.
*Partner with the Sourcing Team and QA Team to determine the root cause of critical manufacturing situations (i.e. defects, output, etc.) and work with the factory and Sourcing team to develop executable Corrective Action Plan (CAP) and monitor to ensure corrections meet the goals and objectives.
*Cooperate with Sourcing Team, QA Team, and Vendor to review the product test plans and track down the product performance throughout the product design and development milestones.
4.Perform additional related responsibilities as requested.
Requirements:
1.Bachelor’s degree or above, Mechanical or Industry Engineering background preferred;
2.Good technical, quantitative and analytical skill;
3.Good experience in new product design/development and project management;
4.Regulatory compliance (such as UL, CSA) experience is preferred;
5.Minimum of 5 years’ relative working experience in Tools, OPE, Electrical Appliance, or Lighting products;
6.Task orientated, results orientated, detail orientated;
7.Good communication skills (English and Mandarin) both written and verbal;
8.Frequent travel is required.
