RESPONSIBILITY / BASIC FUNCTION:
Manages & Co-ordinates quality assurance activities both in plant manufacturing areas and their supporting functions to ensure products/system/process robustness which meets internal & external customer requirements.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assures that the organization is compliant with ISO/TS16949, ISO14001 and other related quality system requirements e.g. customer and engineering standards.
2. Develops and maintains the Integrated Management Systems.
3. Administer direct supervisory responsibility for quality and test personnel including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, promotional recommendations and work schedules.
4. Evaluates currents and new quality assurance programs and conducts continuous improvement projects.
5. Develops, trains and applies quality tools and techniques to prevent defects in design and manufacturing processes e.g. APAP, POKA Yoke, FMEA, statistical techniques, 5s, etc.
6. Develops and improves measurement methods to monitor the performance of processes e.g. First Time Yidle, Defects per Unit, Cost of Quality, Process Capability etc.
7. Monitors internal / external customer satisfaction, recommends areas of improvement e.g. APQP, Quality, Cost, Delivery etc. and leads the efforts to resolve quality and process variability problems.
8. Manages the certification of capable suppliers, monitors supplier performance, recommends areas of improvement.
9. Acts as company liaison with regard to specific customer quality requirement and initiatives and provides customers with internal quality assurance data where appropriate.
10.Has overall responsibility for laboratory management and testing i.e. design verification, prodcution validation and in-process testing.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Completes other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
2. Direct customer interface for quality related issues.
3. May be required to travel to various customers' locations and plants sites.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:
- Relevant degree in relevant scientific field. English language skills.
- 8 years above related working experience & additional education may be substituted for experience and vice versa.
- Assignments require considerable knowledge of management practice and policy interpretation or combination of education and experience that develops technical capability to independently evaluate, select and apply techniques and standards.
