Position: Asia Pacific HDI Account Manager

Main Responsibilities:

· Drive initiatives to profitably secure majority share positions for INVISTA supply to the HDI (hexamethylene diisocyante) coatings value chain in the Asia Pacific region.

· Originate, develop and maintain strategic customer relationships with counterparties in the HDI value chain.

· Understand the customer’s business in terms of application, value chains, key drivers, key competitors, and supply alternatives.

· Originate sales proposals, analyze, gain alignment through the Decision Making Framework, negotiate and close supply deals with counterparties in the HDI value chain.

· Integrate with technical, operations, supply chain, logistics and global marketing teams to translate marketing opportunities to profitable growth and to promptly resolve customer issues.

· Develop a deep understanding of the HDI industry and contribute to the development of INVISTA’s market point of view and corresponding value added strategies.

· Originate and drive initiatives and capital projects required to deliver strategies.

· Develop business systems, processes, assets, and infrastructure to support growth.

· Develop, maintain and communicate key measures of profitability.

· Identify and drive opportunities to enhance product and/or service offerings.

Main Requirements:

· 5+ years’ experience in an external-facing, commercial role within the chemical industry or related industry.

· Good economic thinking skills, sound judgment and trading mentality.

· Strong communication skills and proven success in communicating effectively at all levels.

· Initiative and ability to work with limited supervision as part of a team.

· Technical aptitude to understand products and applications.

· Project management skills.

· Microsoft® Office capability including: Excel® – presenting data, modeling, creating charts and graphs, Word – drafting letters and creating tables and PowerPoint® – creating and editing presentations.

· Ability to travel in the Asia Pacific region, to Europe and to the US.

· Spoken and written fluency in Mandarin and English languages.

· Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, business, marketing or related field.

Knowledge & Skills Preferred:

· 3 years+ experience in the polyurethane or polyurethanes coatings sectors.

· Analytical and financial modeling capability and market analysis experience.

· Trading and negotiating experience.

· Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering.

· MBA.
