Key Responsibilities:

?Under general supervision, provides verbal interpretation and written translation services between English and Mandarin Chinese, in accordance with established protocols and specific instructions regarding the nature and accuracy of interpretation/translation assignments
? Delivers both consecutive and simultaneous interpretation in both languages
? Serves as interpreter at various venues, both on-and off-site, and in various situations, as required during the performance of services. Some travel is required
? To interpret during important meetings and workshops and to prepare minutes and records as required (from Chinese to English and vice versa)
? To translate important documents especially those that are for publication, including insurance policy wording, project newsletters, brochures and training materials, regulatory and financial documents
? To maintain an archive of translated documents in both hard copy and e-copy formats and keep back-ups of all translations on a hard-drive

Technical Skills and Expertise:

?At least 5 years working experience as translator to senior management in multinationals, background in Insurance or banking industry preferred
? Bachelor degree or Post-graduate Degree in English or Interpretation/Translation
?·Fluency in English and Chinese languages with excellent verbal and academic written skills
? Skilled at both consecutive and simultaneous interpretation
? Experience using simultaneous interpretation equipment
?·Ability to work independently and complete tasks under strict deadlines. Mature and pleasant personality
? Preferably have exposure to the local organization
? Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
