Main Tasks
Responsible for providing the Plant Launch Team (PLT) with leadership and direction regarding MP&L requirements for the launch program. Must work closely with entire launch team to ensure integration across all functional organizations. Provide input to the "Launch Health" () reporting for all Plant launch MP& L related items.
The position responsibilities include:
- Representing the Plant MP&L Manager, and working to support the Plant Launch Manager (PLM) in all Launch related activities, and provide the "Voice of MP&L" from the plant.
- Support PLM in identifying MP&L role requirements for launch based on program content and complexity.
- Provide input to PLM regarding:
- Launch plan & timing development.
- Launch budget development.
- Balance out of old model and ramp up of new model.
- Plant’s needs, wants and lessons learned.
- Early facility and tooling requirements.
- Manufacturing Readiness Reviews.
- Training requirements for any new technologies being introduced.

- Participate in Gateway reviews as required
- Ensure all build activities performed in the plant do not compromise current production
- Provide "MP&L" input to Plant launch program health assessments (LQOS)
- Support documentation and communication of lessons learned
- Responsible for ensuring workforce readiness for new product launch
- Participate in development of a lean plant layout with area leaders
- Participate in development of a plant synchronous material flow strategy to eliminate waste
- Participate in rack and dunnage verificationall with staff MP&L and plant area leaders
- Develop and manage the plant MP&L and Material Handling launch plan
- Maintain regular dialogue with area launch leaders to identify and resolve launch issues
- Manage and verify all in-coming new model materials
- Develop balance out plan
- Participate in identifying and resolving part complexity issues with area launch leaders
- Identify and resolve broadcast issues with area launch leaders
- Participate in managing engineering alert changes with plant launch team and suppliers
Travel required to support launch program activities.

Qualification:
Undergraduate degree in engineering preferred.
Requires "actual production MP&L" experience/knowledge.
Knowledgeable of Plant MP&L Systems.
Skilled in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
Project management or launch experience.
According to MP&L Competence Matrix.
