Position Summary:
Assist Products Transfer Director to develop holistic strategy to roll-out Lean NPT (New Products Transfer) process across company businesses. Manage NPT project milestones; coordinate raw material planning, tooling/fixture development, special process certification, first article production, quality and engineering approvals, etc. to complete NPT projects on schedule. Provide management and guidance to multi-functional project teams; Manage and enhance customer relationships; Assist with business development activities; Provide full accountability for project budgets and schedules.
Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:
? Responsible for product development of a new project from New Products Introduction to Mass Production.
? Manage schedules and costs for assigned customers/programs.
? Help coordinate development of all aspects of quotations, including but not limited to: preparing preliminary project schedules, providing preliminary NRE estimates, negotiating Statements of Work, and preparing preliminary project budgets.
? Advise upper management on overall financial health of all programs being managed.
? Provide support with identifying and preparing new engineering and/or business proposals.
? Ability to form and lead strong multi-functional teams to coordinate design team, work cell. SCM, NPT and manufacturing, to achieve company and customer objectives.
? Establish and maintain communications with both customer personnel and senior management.
? Negotiate/facilitate resource allocation and/or employee relation issues with Functional Managers.
? Provide dashboard, status report regularly and communicate related information to stakeholders.
? Ability to respond in a timely fashion to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or internal personnel.
? Conduct formal design reviews with customers to ensure design(s) meet customer design requirements.
? Ability to effectively present information to senior management and/or customer personnel.
? Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
? Comply and follow all procedures within the company including security, IP, and export compliance policies.
Qualifications:
? Bachelor's degree required, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing operations discipline, Master's degree preferred;
? Related training, like PMP, Six Sigma, DTF (Demand Flow Technology) or Lean Manufacturing is preference
? Five years experience in product development role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
? Work experience from western manufacturing company with high-mix-low-volume -production environment
? Has both good personal technical background and teamwork spirit, has certain negotiable capability and effective logical thinking way to solve problems,
? Demonstrated ability to work effectively across geographic boundaries and with people of different cultures
? Project management experience
