Motion Global is seeking a Business Intelligence Specialist / to join its fast growing Business Intelligence team. This is either (i) a short-term contract role based in our Shanghai offices, or a (ii) long-term full time role – to be based in our Shanghai office.

The Role: A Microsoft BI Specialist/Analyst is required to oversee the data and reporting function in our Business Intelligence Department. The person will be required to jump-start our SSRS reporting structure, pushing our data feeds into understandable and manageable formats. The successful candidate will develop solutions and build business process to "free the data". He will strive to provide the business users with access to any desired data, when they need it and in the manner they want to consume this information.
Based on the ability of the candidate – This person will either create the reporting structure + dashboards over a couple of weeks and thus work in a contract role. Or the candidate may possess the skills and desire to not only perform this function, but also continue to oversee the development practices and methodologies, ensuring consistent, reliable and accurate data across the division. Hence this could also be a full time role.

Key Responsibilities
? Leading the use of business intelligence and analytics to support the achievement of business performance targets across the company.
? Owning and driving the Business Intelligence Strategy, to ensure data is leveraged for business outcomes across the company.
? Creating an upskilled, high performing business intelligence team concentrating on the provision of quality information and the intuitive and collaborative provision of analytics, reporting and data insight.

Duties
* Data Oversight: Own the data integrity for the enterprise, ensuring clean, accurate, reliable and consistent data to use as a measuring stick. Manage a reporting data store. Partner with the insights team to determine which new data components are needed and how they can be captured.
* Reporting Strategy: Design, develop and execute the strategy for reporting methodologies and practices. Create an agile development process, with appropriate levels of rigor, including requirement definition, development, QA, UAT and production support. Recommend the technologies needed to accelerate the business.

Skills/Abilities
* Microsoft Access, Excel and VBA
* SQL and Microsoft BI Stack - SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Semantic Model, Power View), ideally supported by appropriate certifications
* Experience in Microsoft SharePoint or Microsoft Master Data Services (MDS) would be an advantage
* Microsoft Architecture experience and Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL DBA experience
* Ability to work at a detailed level while maintaining an overall project perspective
* Six Sigma or other Business process mapping skills and experience
* Detailed understanding of cross functional retail processes
