Database Engineering
Primary Job Responsibilities
？ Work on shifts and handle/respond kind of database issues and requests and provide a support for multiple SQL/NoSQL databases within the organization.
？ Person should be comfortable dealing with complicated and non-standard break-fixes for which standard support is not sufficient. Periodic on-call/off-hours duties are part of this position.
？ Ability to work under pressure and deliver on deadline is a must.
？ In addition candidate is expected to take an initiative when required and to proactively address issues based on the experience and an established standard.
？ As a member of the team candidate is expected to work alongside fellow DBAs and to help others on as needed basis as well to ask for help when appropriate.
？ Broad understanding of the current informational technologies is a big plus.
？ Coaching and assistance to junior database administrators may be needed.
？ Manage projects to meet all the defined goals.
？ Person should be able to quick to fix the database issue with short term solution and later to work on long term solution.
？ Person should take proactive actions to resolve the potential technical issues.
Job Requirements
？ Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent discipline
？ Minimum 8 years hands on knowledge of Oracle in a production environment
？ Minimum 3 years’ experience working in 24x7 environment
？ Experience troubleshooting and tuning Oracle in a production environment
？ Experience with very large production databases (1 TB+)
？ Experience with SQL tuning
？ Understanding of multi-tier architectures from a conceptual level
？ Experience with database replication technology, preferably Streams, logical standby
？ Proven problem solving skills with an emphasis on quick problem resolution
？ Mid-level Unix system administration skills
？ Mid-Level LAN and WAN network knowledge
？ Knowledge of MySQL database administration, performance tuning and configuration
？ Knowledge of Mongodb, Cassandra administration, performance tuning and configuration is a big plus
？ Experience to lead a team (3+ people) and proven leadership skills
？ Project management experience
？ Ability to work on many tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment
？ Motivated self-starter personality; must be able to work independently of supervision but be a willing and contributing participant on cross-functional team
？ Excellent English written and oral communication skills
？ Must be a quick learner
