About eBay China Technology Center Of Excellence (CCOE)
eBay China Technology Center Of Excellence (COE) is home to China's top talent in areas from Cloud computing, Quality Engineering and Operations to Data Analytics, data mining, and mobile computing. Advanced software solutions are developed for the eBay global platform, in daily collaboration with our sister Centers Of Excellence in USA, India and Israel. Founded in July 2004, eBay COE has grown from 40 people to nearly 400 people and is a much desired place to work given its culture, leading edge talent and agile environment. eBay China Operations Center (COC) has top technical teams from both China and the USA, to ensure nonstop operation of our global e-commerce platform. eBay COC operates the world's biggest e-business platform, with first-class network architecture and technology, tens of thousands of servers and multi-petabytes databases, and efficient operating flows, to accomplish millions of transactions, 1 billion clicks daily and 10GB of data flow per second.

COC is a Shanghai based technology team operating the world's largest e-business platform. Partnering with their US Technology OPS teams, they ensure nonstop operation of their global e-commerce platform, which is built of first-class network architecture and technology, enormous enterprise servers, and databases. With efficient operating flows, their platform has accomplished 5.5 billion of business transactions and over 100 billion SQL calls till date. It also processes billions of clicks daily and 30 GB of data flow per second.

Manage eBay production Front End system to drive troubleshooting, problem resolution, high availability and performance, resolve errors and alarms quickly or perform timely escalations as indicated
Perform everyday tasks such as configuring systems, installing software, providing guidance in technical meetings, defining standards, assisting with research and design for architectural issues, assisting/providing status updates, attending project meetings and implementation of new search features
Individual is required to perform on-call duty on a rotational basis
Assist in troubleshooting and performance tuning
Automation of repeatable work
Act as a key member (support/consultant/lead) on various site projects
Complete tasks required to maintain service levels and availability or projects of all eBay Front End infrastructure
Some International travel may be require

2+ years of windows server system administrator experience
2+ years of Linux or Unix system administrator experience
Basic knowledge of Networking (LAN and WAN,)

Know well Python, bash shell or batch script language
Can perform 12x7 on-call duty on rotational
Must be flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Good learning attitude and sense
Exhibit procedural and architectural documentation skills
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers, customers and management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Education Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
