Standard: 1.College degree

2.Ability to communicate effectively in English

3.Familiarity with Sales/Marketing tools

4.4+ years experience as a Sales Manager at a 5-star hotel.

5.Ability to provide legible communication.

6.Ability to do basic arithmetic.

3.Ability to ensure confidentiality of guest and hotel data.

6.Ability to lead a cohesive team to perform job functions and staff and follow up with corrections

when necessary.

7.Ability to be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems exercising good judgement.

10.Ability to assist hotel special event / food and beverage promotion sales activities.

11.Ability to remain calm and courteous with demanding /difficult situations

12.Ability to work long hours, 5-6 days a week

14.Ability to ensure full manning of ERS team at all times

15.Ability to conduct show talk / MSP / annual staff re-certification.

16.Good knowledge of yield management.


Essential job functions:


1. Maintain a complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation.

2. Maintain a complete knowledge of and comply with all hotel and departmental policies and procedures.

3. Maintain a complete knowledge of the computer according to specifications.

4. Access all functions of the computer according to specifications.

5. Set up workstation with necessary supplies and resource materials; maintain cleanliness throughout shift.

6. Handle inquiry call according to departmental procedure.

7. Handle guest complaints by following instant pacification procedures ensuring guest satisfaction.

8. Promote positive relations with guests and employees.

9. Maintain a high level of knowledge in reference to The Ritz-Carlton product.

10.Maintain a high level of knowledge of the competition’s product.

11.Maintain good relations with counterparts at competing hotels; promote all Ritz-Carlton Hotels whenever possible.

12.Design and work within the market plan. Maintain file database.

13.Ensure the sales workforce meets solicitation and maintenance call requirements, makes outside sales calls, handles all incoming inquiries.

14.Answer incoming phone calls in a pleasant manner, within two rings, using correct salutations and Ritz-Carlton telephone etiquette.

15.Ensure the sales workforce anticipates and responds to all customer needs within a timely manner.

16.Process paperwork to other departments promptly. Complete all assigned paperwork within a timely manner.

17.Follow up with in-house guests who are part of the ERS program.

18.Plan and prepare appointments for sales trips and follow up in a timely manner.

19.Attend designated trade shows/sales trip.

20.Maintain a file base of client information.

21.Attend and/or facilitate departmental and hotel meetings as required.

22.Entertain clients in all outlets as necessary.

23.Successfully complete the training/certification process for this position.

24.Maintain and energize the ERS program and staff.

25.Always book “smart” in respect to patterna of demand.

26.Build and maintain positive relations with International Sales Offices.

27.Handle PTG clients and designated ERS accounts.

28.Oversee all RFP. Enrollments and review with concerned ERS staff and DOS.
