Job description:

1. Responsibility for specialist positions including technology experts, programmers/controls, mechanical and electrical maintenance, facility coordinator, engineers

2. Responsible for the organization and management of all technical functions in the plant including:

a. Ensuring a high level of availability and conservation of value for all manufacturing and facilities equipment and of the buildings and outdoor facilities at SHN location

b. Continually improving all organizational and technical processes

c. Further developing and ensuring the continued competitiveness of the location

d. Providing strategic direction for Manufacturing Technology in SHN in agreement with Central Manufacturing Technology taking technical and economic aspects into account

e. Acting as the China lead plant function to optimize the technical processes and standards

3. Determination and implementation of a strategy for the medium and long term development of the technical functions and related areas

4. Responsible for the determination and implementation of any preventative and reactive measures necessary to maintain the viability of the plant

5. Initiation and implementation of process and product optimization with regard to overall cost, quality and availability

6. Implementation of group-wide standards for technical functions and processes in agreement with central functions and sister plants

7. Responsible for developing and implementing measures to achieve the best possible process configuration from both economic and technical aspects, including implementing ongoing internal cost-reduction measures (organizational processes, current/new technologies etc).

8. As lead plant function, provide support for sister plants in product launches, problems with facilities supply and/or processes – including developing know-how for technology transfers, such as for welding, stamping and other technologies

9. Member of the decision-making body for concept decisions on new projects, including selection of suitable machine suppliers

10. Definition and implementation of suitable controlling instruments, including benchmarking within the scope of the lead plant function

11. Independent recognition of capacity bottlenecks or gaps in availability including determining and implementing the required corrective measures

Job requirement:

- Degree in Engineering and/or MBA; or equivalent knowledge of 8-10 years of practical experience

- Strong communication; organization and managerial skills

- Min. of 8 years of professional experience within a similar capacity; five (5) of which are at a managerial level

- Automotive and/or manufacturing experience with specific knowledge in manufacturing , production engineering, maintenance or process technology is a must

- Management and leadership techniques; project management training and experience

- Experience with IT applications (MS Office applications, SAP, MS Project)

- Experience with managing budgets and financial analysis

- Fluent English
