QUALITY MANAGER

Job Title: QUALITY MANAGER
Employment Status: Full Time
Location: Shanghai, China

Quality Manager

As a Regional Quality Manager you will be responsible for quality across multiple chemical manufacturing plants in China, reporting into the corporate quality director. You will work closely with the commercial folks to resolve customer issues, and work closely with each plant manager and quality leader to ensure we:

·Coordinate quality communication between operations, commercial, procurement, customers, and suppliers as appropriate. Foster a global team work effort in addressing quality concerns and issues.
·Provide appropriate training such as Internal Auditor training, root cause analysis training, data analysis, six sigma, and statistical techniques.
·Align Ashland Manufacturing Process Capabilities with Customers Quality Needs and Expectations. Work directly with customers on questions, audits, complaints, etc. as required.
·Maintain or implement appropriate certifications and regulatory requirements (i.e., ISO-9001, food safety) at our plants to meet commercial expectations.
·Ensure were testing and releasing Products at the plants in a timely manner without compromise to quality.
·Progress process and manufacturing improvements to maximize throughput efficiency at a minimal cost in concert with engineering, production, and commercial expectations.

Other activities include:
Participate on corporate improvements and auditing teams, providing quality expertise. Provide continuous improvement recommendations regarding quality processes, procedures, and standards. Participate on due diligence teams for acquisitions.
·working with commercial people and plant people to handle key customers or significant complains. like LM, IDI etc.
·provide the support and guildline for quality incident investigation. like RCA etc.
·support to build QA process and data analysis module. and coach plant people how to run it. for instance, how to use control chart etc.
·support six sigma projects in the plants and provide proper training.

Qualifications

·Requires a person who can actively function in a cross-functional team environment with differing personalities with the ability to effect change. Manufacturing facility experience desired; corporate-level experience a plus
·Excellent written and oral communications skills. Must be able to effectively communicate in Chinese and English languages.
·Relevant Bachelor of Science or Masters of Science technical degree is required. 10+ years experience in process improvements, managing quality control laboratories in the chemical manufacturing industry.
·Proven ability to successfully perform root cause analyses and implement corrective actions. Six Sigma skills preferred, a black belt is plus.
·Leadership skills, including a demonstrated aptitude to work in teams and motivate others. Positive attitude and highly organized.
·Must be willing to travel in-country. Applicants must be able to work in China and travel to the United States and Europe.
·Demonstrated hands-on experience in chemical manufacturing plants with process and equipment, performance testing, and troubleshooting.
·Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Lotus Notes.
·Knowledge of Chinese and international codes and standards and SAP experience also a plus.
