Position: Technical Service Engineer

Location: Shanghai, China

Role: As the Technical Service Engineer, lead Molding trials and resolve customer issues in an expeditious manner. Ensure that there is good flow of information between Technical and Commercial teams with proactive actions.

Responsibility: Manage key application developments at customers in Asia Pacific area- concept to commercialization

Expectations:

· Determine key gaps to address Asia customers’ needs, especially in focused area.

· Ensure good interaction and communication with Product Technology and Commercial teams, and 3rd party laboratories as needed to help advance and close programs at customers.

· Share case studies on successful closes.

Responsibility: Lead molding trial & technical seminars for China and rest of Asia as needed.

Expectations:

· Call on customers in a timely manner in case of a reported problem (Typical expectation - 1st contact within 24 hours of a reported problem, within 5 business days with an update, and within 7-10 business days with a final report).

· Plan for mold trials of INVISTA products to ensure success by thinking through potential risks and mitigation actions – Involve the global technical community.

· Actively looking for opportunities to provide customers with technical seminar, especially in focused area.

· Summarize best practices through successful trouble shooting, mold trial and team shared case studies.

· Determine processing advantages including cycle time, flow, processing window, and other secondary processes for focus apps.

Responsibility: Lead Asia-Pacific Moldflow analysis for Asia customers using EDD data from Datapoint Labs.

Expectations:

· Identify Moldflow vendor to run analysis desired by customers in Asia – coordinate with Application Technology team on Mold flow inputs, CAD file from customers and transmit information to Moldflow vendors for simulation.

· Evaluate the analysis results from 3rd party vendors and ensure the results to meet customers’ need.

Responsibility: Translate molding best practices with TORZEN Marathon? resin for CAC & HPPA products.

Expectations:

· Fully understand the molding process and best practices for CAC with TORZEN Marathon? resins.

· Translate and guide customer to apply the material correctly.

Responsibility: 100% Compliance

Expectations:

· Understand, Internalize and Implement compliance actions with a focus on intellectual properties, product stewardship, and Antitrust while dealing with 3rd parties and validation partners.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science or Chemistry, Master’s Degree preferred

· Experience in injection molding, ideally with large parts in PA66 or other crystalline resins

· Experience in customer issue resolution and technical problem solving

· Direct working experience with customers on Specification package development

· Tolling experience is highly desirable

· Fluent in English and Chinese
