Job Summary:

To ensure quality of supplied product or service meets regulatory, contractual and customer requirements through effective product verification, containment, problem resolution and improvement activities with the supplier.

Key/Primary Responsibilities:
Determine the listing of inspection items for vendor components and parts based on the supplier quality performance and develop incoming inspection requirements;
Analyze parts quality performance data on allocated suppliers’ performance and identify improvement opportunities, release weekly/monthly report;
Support to do field survey for localization project and supplier quality issue;
Effectively manage non-conformance (concession) parts quality problem with effective problem resolution to assure production stability and continuity. Lead supplier root cause investigations and corrective actions through 8-Steps problem resolution process within agreed time frame for proven field quality issues;
Ensures that discrepant incoming material is identified and quarantined for timely dispositions, coordinate supplier technician for site repair;
Work with other departments on cost reductions, safety from a Quality Assurance perspective;
Travel to suppliers to perform parts audits periodically and monitor manufacturing process, follow up on corrective actions;
Verify supplier compliance via periodical part audit and supporting SD doing process assessments to secure that suppliers meet the process capability requirement;
Lead the supplier APQP process within quality function authority, review and approve Supplier PQAP (ISA, MPA), support related cross-function teams on trial installation of new parts;
Support and comply with all company policies, procedures, standards (VPS, 5S, QI, etc.) and support continuous improvement initiatives in plant;
Attend weekly MRB Quality meeting;
Work with engineering, SD and buyers, to support suppliers development;
Train and coach suppliers to improve the purview of their quality control performance.
In conjunction with supply chain management according to documented procedures.
Performs other related tasks as needed;

Candidate Profile:
Technical Knowledge
Have a specified experience on casting, forging, heat treatment, welding, machining etc.
Having 4 to 5 years of experience in supplier quality engineering.
Good presentation, analytical, technical writing and verbal communication skills
Detail knowledge in 8D Problem Solving.
Knowledge in Six Sigma Tools like FMEA, Why-Why Analysis, SPC, Process Capability.
Familiarize with ISO 9001:2008 & Auditing Techniques.
Certified Quality Engineer will be added advantage.
Six Sigma Black/Green Belt Certified will be added advantage.

Working Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of performing product inspections for conformance to specifications;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skill is a requirement with quality tools;
Experience in quality / supplier quality assurance / technical background;
Minimum 3 years’ experience in automotive APQP / PPAP quality process.
Possess core competencies of Volvo
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required;
Languages
Working language: English / Korean, Native language: Chinese.
