The objective of this new position is carry out experimental plan and contributing to planning of experimental plans in the laboratory, working under supervision with Technical Service Specialist whilst learning to grow towards high level product and technology competencies, work in developing appropriate products and practical solutions to grow the business


Arranges experimental data in tables and graphs to identify possible relationships.

Builds / installs auxiliary equipment in consultation with supervisor

Reports experiments and results both verbally and in laboratory books and explains to team members the details of her/his work

Prepares the work and reports with the guidance of a supervisor. The source of information is either known or indicated by the supervisor

Executes, with some supervision, a routine set of experimental activities that has been defined by the supervisor applying high quality standards.

Prepares presentations / papers for in- and external customers and industry gatherings.

Maintains timely, accurate and (witnessed) lab books in order to provide the records required to properly execute/address all IP questions and needs and to safeguard experimental data.

Contributes to others’ projects. Efficient running of the laboratory operations with the highest standard of integrity, EHS and practices good housekeeping

Technical Skills in Coatings –Protective coatings and Heavy duty maintenance coatings or CE

Fluency in written English for communication and report writing, verbal communication in English is plus

· Fluency in Chinese language both verbal and written
· Demonstrated basic understanding of polymer chemistry
· Demonstrated appreciation to protection of intellectual property
· High personal standards in health and safety issues.
· Personal computer skills

Adequate presentation skills



Graduate/Diploma or associate degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Polymer Science related
0-2 years experience in Chemical Companies active in CE, Marine Paints, Heavy Duty Maintenance application such as PPG, Jotun, Hempel, IP, Sigma, KCC. is plus
Fresh graduate needs to demonstrate proficiency in polymer chemistry subjects and experimental in university.
Prior experience in the lab is ideal. Essentially a Technical skill set
Ability to quickly learn and grasp technical product knowledge in various sub segments
Foresight to identify potential issues
