Position: AP EHS Engineer

Report to: AP EHS Capability Manager

Location: Shanghai

Main Responsibilities:

? Provides leadership and direction to achieve the EH&S vision through management commitment and employee ownership.

? A shared EH&S vision has been developed and is integrated into the organization.

? Employees understand and exercise their decision rights regarding EH&S.

? Incentive metrics are performance based (i.e. leading indicators) in addition to outcome based (i.e. trailing indicator).

? Facilitates EH&S ownership by the line organization through integration of the EH&S Management System.

? EH&S system elements are integrated into the line organization’s responsibilities and expectations.

? Leads the development of risk assessment methods/systems for anticipating, identifying and evaluating hazards.

? Reviews or manages various EIA/SA/OHA applications and other EHS compliance submittals to ensure the accuracy of the submitted information.

? Ensures an effective change management process is in place.

? Participates with Corp/facility leadership with the development of short and long-term EH&S objectives, targets, strategies, and measures that prioritize and mitigate risks.

? Ensures the development, improvement, and implementation of EHS training systems to meet Corp/facility needs utilizing either internal resources or qualified external instructors.

? Ensures there is a system in place for a facility to sustain and improve performance.

? Management reviews are routinely conducted and plans are adjusted as necessary.

? Utilizes development plans to grow EH&S skills and knowledge.

? Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders ( such as government officical, operations, project/ engineering, legal, procument and external consultants)

Required experience & skills:

? Bachelors degree in Safety, Environmental or related field, or equivalent work experience

? 5 years minimum EH&S experience in industrial or chemical manufacturing

Knowledge & Skills Preferred:

? Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or demonstrated progress to achieve any equivalent Safety Engineer or Professional Certification

? Experience in assessing the EHS risks using Environmental/Safety Modeling software is preferred. Previous leadership experience is preferred

? Ability to Read/Write/Speak Chinese and English effectively. Understand verbal and written communications in both Chinese and English especially EHS technical terminologies
