Role Summary/Purpose
Lead Engineer – Automation and control

Essential Responsibilities
* Work with global teams to initiate and develop technology to monitor, control and automate manufacturing processes. The processes are generally CNC/NC or robotic based. * Design and conduct machining experiments, collect experimental data, acquire and manage signals to develop and build process models for data analysis and decision-making. * Document research results through patent applications, technical reports and publications. * Others: EHS requirement

Qualifications/Requirements
* M.S. or above in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering or equivalent * Ability in signal processing and intelligent algorithm development for data analysis/mining* Proficiency in programming with LabVIEW and/or C++* Proficient in English and good at communications

Desired Characteristics
1. Condition monitoring on machine tools 2. Status monitoring on advanced manufacturing processes, e.g. laser, electromachining, waterjet, and/or traditional machining processes such as grinding, turning, milling3. Robot applications

中心坐落于上海张江高科技园区，占地面积47,000平方米，于2003年5月投入使用，是国内最大的独立外资研发机构之一，也是国内极少数具有基础科学研究能力的企业研发中心。

GE中国研发中心现有研发人员1400多人，60多个拥有世界一流设备的实验室，其研究力量主要集中在以下领域：

• 清洁能源，包括洁净煤、风电、太阳能发电等；
• 水处理与海水淡化；
• 材料科学，包括纳米材料、晶体、陶瓷，材料分析；
• 电力电子和实时控制；
• 先进制造技术；
• 影像技术；
• 化学技术，如导电高分子，电化学技术;
• 传感与检测技术；
• LED照明；
• 交通运输等

GE中国研发中心每年完成100多个研究项目。截至2009年底，GE在中国的研发人员共申请了450余项专利。
