SUMMARY OF JOB:

Design, develop and implement Design-Verification-Test for Cooling(Air/Con) products. Take the responsbility of recording issues/deffects discovered,tracking issue status and verifying the implementation of issue solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Define/perform product&system design verification test (DVT) plan to assure product quality with Deisgn Engineer by reference product Specification and company internal design standard.
• Breakdown/transfer the reliability target of the product into feasible test cases. Verfiy the reliability target thru the reliability test or by reviewing the report from 3rd party lab.
• Have the ability to debug the questions during test with deep Understanding of the standard test equipments/facilities of Test Lab(Chamber) and the interaction between HAVC product and lab facility. If necessary, Design /develop and hardware and software for Cooling DVT test systems. Perform mechanical fabrication of panels, fixtures, shelving, other mechanical devices and assembly of DVT Testers by Lab engineer support.
• Gather/analysis test data and Generate formal DVT test report per DVT Test Plan
• Hold peer review of the verification test results with the project team to support the decision to release to validation.
• Record/rank the defects and issues discovered in test activities. Track the issue solution status and verify their implementation.
• Commincate with global test groups and get labor resource. Give the estimate of labor, facilities, cost and time to project manager.
• Define test strategy and allocate the test activies into different test group if necessary. Oversees the different test groups, optimize the test activities and aovid the overlap.
• May support test activities from validation team or work as validation test enigneer for specific projects.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
• Troubleshooting Cooling DVT equipment/Facility failures. Performs diagnosis of assembly errors, wiring errors and other problems related to test system.
• Troubloeshoting Cooling DVT defects, review / improve the design by working with Design engineers. Understand control schematics of cooling products, can diagnosis of control parts defects.
• Integrate new test technologies into existing Test Lab(chamber) ficility & perofrm modification of Facility if need to support new products
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION – MINIMUN REQUIRED LEVEL:
• Bachelor's degree in HVAC major, or equivalent cooling major

EXPERIENCE – MINIMUM REQUIRED:
• 3+ years previous experience as design or test engineer for cooling(Air/Con) products.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 1 – REQUIRED:
• Understanding of HVAC product principles.
• Familiar on Cooling(Air/Con) test Lab(chamber) equipments/facility.
• Strong understanding of cooling component/Product Test Standard, Ability to read and understand cooling electronic control schematics.
• Understanding of computer operating systems, networks and architecture.
• 6sigma tools application on cooling test
• Excellent english written and verbal communication skills.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 2 – DESIRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:
• Experience in design of Cooling(Air/Con) Test Lab
• Familiar with UL, CCC, VDE… standard for cooling(Air/Con) products
• Basic Experience in Program management Process
• Basic Skill in Eletrician

·Specialize in surge and line conditioner technologies.
·Build expertise in embedded systems and UPS technology starting with derivative projects starting in 2009.
·With UPS experience, build China customer expertise for Home segment projects.
Charter
To design, develop and bring to market solutions for HBN customers using APC's mature solution concept prioritization, research and PMP methods. The solutions will be made of robust subsystems that can be easily reused in other HBN products. Whenever possible, and within product cost and time to market program constraints, trade-offs shall be made in favor of reliability, modularity and scalability/ extensitibility.
We will leverage our location to best integrate product solution architecture with China suppliers of surge protector and components.
We will leverage our location near manufacturing to best utilize the resources that achieve our quality, cost and time to market objectives.

·Lead the market World Wide, with Best in Class Rack & Power distribution, Cooling solution & related Service for Data Center, Industry & Building Environments.
·Pursue a Clear Leader Strategy in Racks & Accessories, Power Distribution Units and Service
·Maintain Challenger Strategy in Cooling with pushing highly innovative Solutions and targeting top of mind IT Decision maker issues
Primary Mission
Create profitable product solutions in support of PMP Product Roadmap initiatives and create value for our Customers worldwide.
Key Accountabilities
·New product design creativity and implementation excellence.

·Initiate and support In-Region vendor selection/development for technical product applications.
·Support Manufacturing Operations as In-region product/process technical resource.
