Position Description:
Actively participate in the creation and of the category strategy/action plans and its implementation in China
Create and update supply contracts, in compliance to Wärtsilä Supply Management agreement standards, with suppliers, maintain SAP Outline Agreements and material/vendor master data for relevant parts
Lead/support/participate in negotiations, secure prices, capacity , forecasting and other terms and conditions
Ensure Quality, Delivery and Cost development in accordance with the targets for relevant parts
Manage supplier development, supplier performance and relationships in coordination with the Category Team and/or Director Regional Supply Management China
Gather and analyze spend and supplier data, execute benchmarking, provide relevant data to sales tools
Support non-conformity/warranty process management and delivery unreliability in escalated issues
Secure preconditions for (and execute and manage) test/spot orders
Execute/support material cost budgeting and follow-up
Secure in cooperation with Supplier Development & Quality, the approval of the parts from suppliers and the compliance of the supplier to the agreed management and manufacturing processes
Execute/support supplier selection/rationalization process
Report status and progress and escalate recurring issues to Category Manager and/or Director Regional Supply Management China

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Bachelor Degree in Business or Engineering. MBA or Master degree desired.

Experience:
10 years or more experience in strategic sourcing.

Leadership experience

Experience in marine engine or propulsion system preferred
