Job Content:
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The Production Planner is responsible for liaising with relevant internal customers to ensure that items manufactured and purchased through the factory are supplied to specification and meet production schedules. All responsibilities must be carried out in a positive and professional manner, displaying a commitment to continuous improvement and quality processes at all times
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
1. Provide regular input into the sales forecast and budget figures to ensure these are as accurate as possible by providing formalised market feedback to Management.
2. Review bills of material and routings from drawings and parts lists, accurately entering routings and component information into computer.
3. Create all works orders to manufacture items required for customer orders, entering information into computer within required time frame.
4. Produce work centre schedules as required, to enable production targets to be met, making necessary adjustments to accommodate customer requirements.
5. Maintain inventory control by monitoring inventory levels, reviewing adjustments and assisting with reconciliation at stocktakes.
6. Control accuracy of shopfloor production transactions and make required adjustments to ensure production schedule quantities are correct. Assist in the provision of required training to enable shopfloor personnel to accurately maintain daily quantity information.
7. Meet the obligations of company health and safety, ensuring that no action or inaction causes harm to yourself or others. This requires a sound knowledge of company health, safety and emergency systems and a complete understanding of safety standards and safety equipment requirements within the working area.
8. Display positive teamwork and communication skills, and demonstrate the willingness to work in with all members of the team.
9. Ensure a high standard of organisation and order is maintained throughout working areas.
10. Carry out all other responsibilities as required.
Participate in all on-job and off-job skill training activities to gain new skills and knowledge.
