Essential Functions:
· Develops innovative solutions to complex engineering and manufacturing production problems through identification and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes including conducting process analysis, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with suppliers, and soliciting observations from the operators/process technicians.
· Refines and enhances processes by applying continuous improvement and key Lean manufacturing / production principles and techniques to areas of production. Recommends product changes / improvements to Product Engineers.
· Supports the Manufacturing Cells with respect to process monitoring, classifying and analyzing injection molding machines and quality problems. Coordinates with processors and supervisors to maintain consistency and provides additional training as necessary.
· Ensures that processes are updated for all parts and machines.
· Establishes troubleshooting procedures and train processors. Audit for compliance to troubleshooting procedures.
· Coordinate continuous improvement for the worst, chronic problems as identified by cell performance indicators.
· Work on continuous improvement projects to reduce cost including implementation of robotics and other automation.
· Train new process and set-up personnel.
· Coordinate with engineering to debug new processes and tools.
· Tests newly installed injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications.


Job Requirements:

· Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Plastics preferred.
· Must have hands-on experience in the troubleshooting/optimizing of Plastic Injection Molding equipment. Minimum of four years work experience in an injection molding facility.
· Strong computer skills required to efficiently utilize Word, Excel, Power Point, and Lotus Notes, Process Monitoring software.
· Strong written and oral skills to gather information and convey solutions.
· Effective communication skills.
· Must possess strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic measuring tools, and hands-on capabilities to work on projects with minimal supervision.
