Primary Responsibilities

1. Create and maintain bill of materials
2. Collaborate with suppliers to define, organize and document raw material product specifications including descriptions, compositions, gross usages, scrap rates, weights, dimensions, densities etc.
3. Track and document engineering change orders (ECO) for product line sourced in Asia
4. Track and document raw material and part costs for product line sourced from suppliers
5. Engineer and document mail order packaging standards for products sourced from suppliers
6. Track and document raw material and product lab test reports
7. Evaluate and improve supplier engineering processes and systems
8. Additional engineering tasks as assigned


Main Requirements


1. Three (3) or four (4) year degree in product engineering from a qualified university
2. Minimum five (5) years work experience in product engineering for a B2C (internet or e-commerce based), international retail, manufacturing or trading company in the home furnishings and furniture areas
3. Minimum two (2) years work experience in the home furnishings and furniture areas
4. Deep understanding of how to create and maintain a bill of materials (BOM)
5. Possesses strong knowledge and ability to work with suppliers to define, organize and document raw material product specifications including descriptions, compositions, gross usages, scrap rates, weights, dimensions, densities etc.
6. Able to track and document engineering change orders (ECO) for product line sourced in Asia
7. Strong understanding of raw material, parts and product costs
8. Knowledge of mail order packaging requirements and ability to engineer and document mail order packaging standards for products sourced from suppliers
9. Fluent spoken English and Chinese
10. Advanced ERP and MS Office skills pertaining to engineering tasks
11. Highly organized/detailed with strong task follow-up capabilities
12. Comfortable with extended travel to supplier locations
