Reports to: Presentation Shift Leader/Supervisor
Position Summary
Desktop publishing is a word processing position required to efficiently schedule and process new and existing documents to the clients' specifications. May be called upon to perform quality assurance duties. This position requires prior word processing experience and ability to work independently or with little supervision, and sometimes assist in the training of less experienced associates. Effectively uses the software outlined below to create and produce document templates, mail merges, charts, graphs, complex tables, formulas, macros and client documents.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Follow clients' instructions exactly and accurately process clients' projects, working within strict time constraints and deadlines.
2. Communicate and interact with clients in a professional, positive and courteous manner.
3. Process Word/PowerPoint presentations, financial statements, legal documents, proposals, questionnaires, letters, schedules, labels, and tab masters. May also process spreadsheets.
4. Effectively use the software outlined to create and produce document templates, mail merges, charts, graphs, tables, and client documents.
5. Use job tracking software to log in and out of all tasks assigned for internal tracking purposes.
6. Check work for errors.
7. Meet deadlines.
8. Scheduling documents according to procedure, and acting as project coordinator to certain jobs when necessary.
9. Understand and accurately utilize data collection process.
10. Maintain an overtime or time tracking log.
11. Exhibit a professional decorum at all times.
12. Contribute to the team through cooperation and participation.
13. Communicate effectively with other associates.
14. All other duties assigned
15. 5-day work. Need to work on shifts, afternoon or overnight, and weekends.
Desirable Qualifications
Type a minimum of 75 wpm English / 50 cpm Chinese (with a high level of accuracy).
Work in a collaborative and team oriented environment.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, familiarity with OCR document cleanup.
Strong customer service skills and professionalism.
1+ years word processing experience.
Basic knowledge of the PC platform.
Understanding of Windows NT and Windows XP.
Microsoft Word - Advanced.
Microsoft Excel - Intermediate to Advanced.
Microsoft Powerpoint - Intermediate to Advanced.
Ability to learn and conform to any new work procedures.
Willing to work "overtime", weekends and holidays at minimal notice.
