NUCAP is currently seeking a talented and experienced Senior Design Engineer to oversee engineering functions at NUCAP Shanghai. The successful candidate will manage engineering personnel, assign projects and direct day-to-day activities as well as provide leadership, technical expertise and support for tooling designs and development to other departments and global teams.

Reporting directly to the General Manager with dotted line reporting to the V.P. Global Engineering, this position will be located in Shanghai, China and will be accountable for the following deliverables.

? Oversee engineering including assigning and scheduling projects and day to day activities to direct reports. Lead local engineering team development and training, ensuring transfer and application of knowledge.
? Work closely with NUCAP global engineering team to design, apply and validate dies or introduce new dies from other NUCAP divisions. Provide information to manufacture, assemble or modify tooling or equipment to produce or add value to NUCAP products.
? Communicate with NUCAP global team and customers' engineering departments to provide support and resolve technical/engineering issues.
? Create and manage technical information for products such as, part prints, working drawings, process documentation and technical data that define the product requirements.
? Partner with global cross functional team to manage projects such as implementation of new production line, new product launch etc. Includes assigning work to staff to ensure balancing of the workload throughout the departments.
? Manage and follow project through to completion by establishing goals and performance expectations. Projects may include aftermarket, OE programs, manufacturing, and experimental development.
? Provide technical/engineering support to all departments, and global divisions with respect to solving die related problems during production to ensure quality and efficiency.
? Participate in the development and modification of designs for any dies, tools, machines and equipment required to produce NUCAP products.
? Review and verify engineering drawings, jobs, and projects before releasing to relevant departments.
? Maintain, update and ensure proper retrieval of information in engineering databases for both aftermarket and OE product lines.
? Support OE Sales Manager as required in all stages of OE production programs. Includes reviewing of customer-supplied drawings at quotation stage to define manufacturing specifications, coordinating with OE production and QA departments to manage programs at launch, prototype and production stages, as well as participation in APQP (new program launch), and 8D Failure mode/root cause analysis.
? Create and/or Maintain NUCAP internal part prints as required using AutoCAD or Inventor and initiate necessary procedures such as ECN's, ECO's.

The ideal candidate will possess:

? University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Tool & Die Design, or equivalent education with 10 years minimum experience in manufacturing design.
? 5 - 10 years practical design engineering experience with progressive stamping dies, jigs and fixtures, machine design, and specialized tools. Automotive aftermarket manufacturing experience an asset.
? Knowledge of project management, APQP, 8D Problem solving, and GD&T, plus familiarity with industry standards such as ANSI, ASTM, SAE and ISO/TS.
? Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, report and presentation skills
? Fluent in Mandarin; reading, spoken and written.
? Fluent in English; reading, spoken and written.

? Proficient with Autodesk Inventor 2011 or later, AutoCAD 2011 or later, and Microsoft Office 2007 or later.
