Responsibility:

- Taking complete or partial decisions regarding the purchase of raw materials, finished or semi finished products essential for the production in the company.

- Exploring the market, assessing the capability of the suppliers to meet the requirements of costs, delivery periods, quality and quantity.

- Issuing enquiries and obtaining quotations, selecting suppliers and negotiating the purchase of products or services, that belong to his responsibility or budget in order to obtain for the company the best deal, meaning interesting delivery periods, the highest quality goods and services at the lowest possible cost to the company (total cost of ownership)

- Being aware of the current quality norms of the goods to be purchased and ensuring a constant follow-up by doing quality inspection by him/herself or organizing it with third party.

- Cooperating closely with the other departments in the organization in order to purchase in function of their needs, without loosing sight of the cost efficiency for the company.

- Taking action in case of serious problems regarding delivery of goods and services.

Requirement:

• As the purchaser will be integrated in an international team of purchase professionals, he/she should be a very good communicator and have an excellent knowledge of the English language, both spoken and in writing.
• Knowledge of German will be considered as an advantage.
• The purchaser must be able to work both in team and independently.
• Experience in buying chemicals (for PU foaming industry), bedding products or industrial components (textile/steel/plastics/wood) will be an advantage.
• It is clear that the purchaser is willing to travel.
